Description

A comforting casserole featuring ground beef, layers of potatoes, and creamy cheese, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 onion, diced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef with the diced onion in a skillet until fully cooked and drain excess fat.
  3. Mix the cream of mushroom soup with milk, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish, followed by the ground beef mixture, and half of the cheese.
  5. Add another layer of remaining potatoes and pour the soup mixture over the top. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  7. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a crispier top, broil the casserole for a few minutes at the end of the baking time.
