Teriyaki Chicken: An Incredible Ultimate Recipe for 5-Star Flavor
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup mirin (sweet rice wine)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
- Chopped green onions, for garnish
Instructions
- Create Marinade: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.
- Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces for even cooking.
- Marinate Chicken: Place the chicken pieces in a zip-top bag or a bowl. Pour the marinade over the chicken and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Heat Pan: In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat.
- Cook Chicken: Remove the chicken from the marinade and add it to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is golden and cooked through.
- Thicken Sauce: In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth. Add this mixture to the remaining marinade in your bowl and stir well.
- Combine: Pour the sauce over the chicken in the skillet. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken.
- Garnish: Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
- Serve: Transfer the Teriyaki Chicken to a serving dish, ready to be enjoyed!
Notes
- Letting the chicken marinate longer enhances flavor.
- Adjust the sweetness by varying brown sugar.
