Description

Sweet & Spicy Honey Pepper Chicken is a delicious dish that combines sweetness with a hint of spice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt until well combined.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Place the chicken breasts in a zip-top bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
  3. Preheat the Pan: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add a little olive oil to coat the bottom of the pan.
  4. Cook the Chicken: Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Place the chicken in the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is cooked through and has a nice golden color.
  5. Add Remaining Marinade: In the last few minutes of cooking, pour in the remaining marinade. Allow it to simmer and thicken slightly, coating the chicken with the sweet and spicy glaze.
  6. Check for Doneness: Ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) before removing from heat.
  7. Garnish: Once done, transfer the chicken to a serving platter and drizzle any remaining sauce over the top. Garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color.
  8. Serve: Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing to serve.
