Description

Strawberry Fig Jam blends the bright sweetness of strawberries with the honeyed depth of figs for a rich, fruity, and naturally thick preserve. Made without pectin and full of natural flavor, this easy homemade jam is perfect for breakfast, baking, or gifting all year long.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped (or frozen and thawed)
  • 2 cups fresh figs, stems removed and chopped (or dried figs rehydrated)
  • 1¾ cups granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest (optional)
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash, trim, and chop the strawberries and figs. If using dried figs, soak them in warm water for 30 minutes, then chop.
  2. Add strawberries, figs, sugar, lemon juice, lemon zest, and salt to a large pot. Stir well and let sit 10–15 minutes to release juices.
  3. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and simmer 35–45 minutes, stirring frequently. Mash or blend for desired texture.
  4. Place a spoonful on a cold plate; if it holds its shape and doesn’t run, it’s ready.
  5. Ladle into clean jars, leaving ¼-inch headspace. Cool, seal, and refrigerate or process for long-term storage.
