Soft, bakery-style maple donut bars baked in a 9×13 pan. Tender, cake-donut texture with a glossy, rich maple glaze.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 2 Tbsp milk
- 2 Tbsp melted butter
- 1/4 tsp maple extract
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13 pan. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth. Pour into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
- Spread batter evenly into the pan. Bake 18–22 minutes, or until the top springs back and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, melted butter, maple extract, and salt until smooth and pourable. Adjust thickness as needed.
- Pour glaze over bars while slightly warm. Spread evenly and let sit 30 minutes before cutting.
