Description

Irresistible Sweet & Savory Asian Mango Glazed Chicken Twists: An Amazing Ultimate Recipe

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 ripe mango, peeled and diced
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 1 package of puff pastry sheets
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken breasts into thin strips for quick cooking and easy twisting.
  2. Make the Glaze: In a bowl, combine the diced mango, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper. Blend well until smooth. If you prefer a thicker glaze, stir in cornstarch.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken strips and cook for about 6-7 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Add the Glaze: Pour the mango glaze over the cooked chicken. Stir well to coat the chicken evenly and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the glaze thickens slightly.
  5. Prepare Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheets. Cut them into strips, approximately 1 inch wide.
  6. Twist the Strips: Place a small amount of the glazed chicken at one end of each pastry strip. Twist the pastry around the chicken, creating a spiral shape.
  7. Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the twisted chicken pastry on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Egg Wash: Brush the tops with beaten egg to achieve a golden finish when baked.
  9. Bake: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake the twists for 15-20 minutes or until they are puffed and golden brown.
  10. Garnish: Once baked, remove from the oven and sprinkle with sesame seeds and fresh cilantro for an added touch of flavor and presentation.
