Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 packages taco seasoning, divided
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 16 oz sour cream, divided
- 1 can green chilies (4 oz)
- 1 jar thick and chunky salsa (15 oz)
- 1 ¼ cup shredded taco cheese, divided
- 1 cup guacamole
- 1 roma tomato, diced
- 1 green onion, sliced
- 2 tbsp sliced black olives
Instructions
- Choose your dish. A 9-inch pie plate works best, but you can also use a square dish, platter, or bowl.
- Blend cream cheese, 1 cup sour cream, and 1 package taco seasoning until smooth. Spread in bottom.
- Brown ground beef until cooked through, drain, and stir in the second package of taco seasoning (no water). Spread over the first layer. (Or substitute refried beans.)
- Spread diced green chilies evenly over the meat.
- Spread salsa across chilies.
- Sprinkle 1 cup shredded cheese.
- Spread guacamole evenly over cheese.
- Spread or pipe 1 cup sour cream in a spiderweb pattern across the top.
- Sprinkle diced tomato, green onion, remaining cheese, and olives around the edges. Decorate with plastic spiders if desired. Serve with tortilla chips.
Notes
- You can substitute beans for beef to make this vegetarian.
- Chill before serving for cleaner layers.
- Use thick salsa to avoid watery layers.
- Best served fresh but keeps in the fridge up to 3 days.
