Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
- In a separate bowl, beat together brown sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, applesauce, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely before frosting or serving.
