- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred for extra crunch)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ cup honey
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Green onions (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large bowl.
- In a separate bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle this mixture over the chicken and toss to coat evenly.
- In one bowl, place the flour. In another bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs mixed with corn starch.
- Dip each piece of chicken into the flour, shaking off excess. Then, dip it into the eggs, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Heat over low-medium heat, stirring until the sauce thickens slightly. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In a large skillet or frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Working in batches, add the breaded chicken to the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side. Ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
- Remove the fried chicken from the oil and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
- Toss the fried chicken pieces with the honey garlic sauce until they are fully coated.
- Transfer the coated chicken to a serving platter and garnish with chopped green onions.
