Cozy Up with Homemade Eggnog Bread Pudding: An Incredible 7-Step Recipe
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 cups day-old bread (French or challah, cubed)
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups eggnog
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
- Whipped cream or ice cream for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread. If desired, add raisins and chopped nuts for extra texture and flavor.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, eggnog, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, nutmeg, and cinnamon until well blended.
- Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes. Gently stir to ensure all bread pieces are coated.
- Allow the mixture to sit for about 10-15 minutes, giving the bread time to soak up the custard.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving.
