  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups eggnog
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • Whipped cream or ice cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread. If desired, add raisins and chopped nuts for extra texture and flavor.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, eggnog, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, nutmeg, and cinnamon until well blended.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes. Gently stir to ensure all bread pieces are coated.
  5. Allow the mixture to sit for about 10-15 minutes, giving the bread time to soak up the custard.
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
