Description

Cinnamon Sugar Snowball Cookies are buttery, melt-in-your-mouth treats, rolled in a sweet cinnamon-sugar coating. They are simple to make and perfect for the holidays.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and beat until combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chopped nuts if using.
  5. If the dough feels too sticky, add more flour, a tablespoon at a time.
  6. Portion the dough into small, 1-inch balls using a spoon or cookie scoop.
  7. Place the dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until set and lightly golden on the bottom.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Prepare the cinnamon sugar coating by combining the granulated sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  11. Once the cookies have cooled slightly, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  12. Allow the cookies to cool completely before serving or storing.
