Description

Irresistible and festive, these Christmas Monster Cookies are chewy and adaptable for various dietary preferences, making them perfect for holiday celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup M&Ms or candy-coated chocolates
  • Holiday sprinkles (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together the peanut butter and softened butter until light and fluffy.
  3. Add brown sugar and white sugar, beating until well combined, then mix in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, oats, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Scoop 2-tablespoon balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  7. Press M&Ms or chocolate chips into the tops of the cookies and sprinkle with holiday sprinkles.
  8. Bake for approximately 10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers appear slightly underbaked.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a nuttier flavor, feel free to substitute with almond butter or other nut butter alternatives. Chilling the dough for 15-30 minutes can help prevent spreading.
