Description

This Chocolate Fudge Pie is a rich, decadent dessert that combines the deep flavors of unsweetened chocolate and butter with a tender pie crust. It’s fudgy and luscious, perfect for satisfying any chocolate lover’s craving, and pairs wonderfully with a scoop of ice cream.

  • 2 ounces (57g) unsweetened chocolate
  • ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons (15g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 9-inch pie crust (homemade or store-bought)

Instructions

  1. Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to get it ready for baking the pie.
  2. Place the unsweetened chocolate and unsalted butter into a large microwave-safe bowl. Heat on high power for 1 minute, stirring after 30 seconds. Continue stirring until the mixture is melted and smooth, adding additional short bursts in the microwave if necessary.
  3. Stir granulated sugar, eggs, a pinch of salt, vanilla extract, and flour into the melted chocolate and butter mixture until well combined.
  4. Place the cold pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate, ensuring it is completely chilled to prevent shrinking during baking.
  5. Pour the chocolate filling into the prepared pie crust. Place the pie on a cookie sheet and cover the edges with a pie shield or strips of foil to protect the crust from over-browning.
  6. Bake the pie for 30-40 minutes. During the last 10 minutes, remove the pie shield or foil strips to allow the crust edges to brown. Bake until the top of the pie is no longer glossy and begins to crack slightly.
  7. Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing to ensure clean cuts and the perfect fudgy texture.
