Description

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp (5 g) baking soda
  • 1 tsp (5 g) fine salt
  • 227 g (1 cup) unsalted butter, softened
  • 150 g (3/4 cup) granulated sugar
  • 165 g (3/4 cup) light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs (approx. 100 g total)
  • 2 tsp (10 ml) vanilla extract
  • 340 g (2 cups) semisweet chocolate chips
  • Optional: flaky sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 177°C (350°F) and line two baking sheets with parchment.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Beat softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time and mix until combined, then stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop dough into rounds and refrigerate for 60 minutes.
  8. Space dough balls on baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.

Notes

Chill dough to prevent excess spread and enhance flavor. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
