Description
Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding with Cream Sauce: An Amazing Ultimate Recipe
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 loaf of day-old bread (French, brioche, or challah work well)
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup chopped nuts (optional)
- Butter, for greasing the baking dish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter.
- Cut the loaf of bread into cubes. Place the cubes into the greased baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until smooth.
- Pour the custard mixture evenly over the bread cubes in the baking dish. Gently push down the bread to ensure it soaks up the liquid.
- Sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using) over the top of the soaked bread mixture.
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Once done, remove the baking dish from the oven and let it cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
- While the bread pudding cools, make the cream sauce by whisking together heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and slightly thickened.
- Cut the bread pudding into squares and drizzle the warm cream sauce over each serving.
