- 4 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or olive oil.
- In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken and marinara sauce. Mix until the chicken is evenly coated.
- Spread the chicken mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese and half of the Parmesan cheese over the chicken layer.
- In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, olive oil, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well, then sprinkle this mixture over the cheese layer.
- Finish by adding the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top of the breadcrumbs.
- Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
- If desired, garnish with fresh basil leaves for added flavor and presentation.
