Description

Chicken and Garlic Gravy with Cheesy Mashed Potatoes is the ultimate comfort food, featuring tender chicken smothered in a rich, savory garlic gravy and served over creamy, cheese-infused mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 Chicken breasts or thighs
  • 2 tablespoons Butter or oil
  • 4 Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup Milk or cream
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
  • Optional fresh herbs
  • 4 Potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1/2 cup Milk or cream
  • 1 cup Shredded cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper

Instructions

  1. Boil potatoes in salted water until fork-tender. Drain and mash with butter and warm milk until smooth. Stir in shredded cheese, season, and keep warm.
  2. Season chicken with salt and pepper. In a skillet, cook in butter or oil over medium heat until golden and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté garlic until fragrant. Sprinkle in flour and cook briefly. Gradually whisk in chicken broth and milk until thickened.
  4. Adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper.
  5. Return chicken to the skillet and spoon garlic gravy over the top. Simmer briefly.
  6. Serve chicken and garlic gravy generously over cheesy mashed potatoes.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add fresh herbs like thyme or parsley.
  • Adjust the consistency of the gravy by adding more broth or milk as needed.
  • Use different types of cheese for the mashed potatoes to customize the flavor.
