A comforting and easy Cheesy Cabbage Beef Casserole perfect for family dinners. This dish combines savory ground beef, tender cabbage, and melted cheese for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium head Cabbage
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 can Diced Tomatoes
  • 2 cups Cooked Rice
  • 1 tbsp Italian Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 cup Beef Broth

Instructions

  1. Boil cabbage for 5 minutes until slightly tender. Drain and set aside.
  2. Brown ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic in a skillet. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in diced tomatoes, cooked rice, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish. Layer half the cabbage, then the beef mixture, then the remaining cabbage.
  5. Sprinkle 1 cup of cheddar cheese over the top. Pour beef broth evenly over the casserole.
  6. Cover with foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove foil, add remaining cheese, and bake for another 10-15 minutes until golden and bubbly.

Notes

  • Garnish with fresh parsley for added flavor.
  • Ensure cabbage is well-drained after boiling to prevent a watery casserole.
  • For best melting results, use freshly shredded cheese.
