Description

Cast Iron Skillet Pizza: An Incredible Ultimate Recipe

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (plus extra for greasing)
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1 cup assorted vegetables (bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, etc.)
  • Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, instant yeast, and salt. Gradually add warm water and olive oil, stirring until a dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise for about 30 minutes, or until it doubles in size.
  5. Grease a cast iron skillet with olive oil and place it in the oven for 5 minutes.
  6. Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into a circle that fits your skillet.
  7. Carefully transfer the dough to the hot skillet, pressing it evenly across the bottom and up the sides.
  8. Spread the pizza sauce over the dough, then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Add your favorite toppings, like pepperoni and vegetables.
  9. Place the skillet back in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  10. Remove the skillet from the oven and let it cool slightly. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
