- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (plus extra for greasing)
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup sliced pepperoni
- 1 cup assorted vegetables (bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, etc.)
- Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, instant yeast, and salt. Gradually add warm water and olive oil, stirring until a dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise for about 30 minutes, or until it doubles in size.
- Grease a cast iron skillet with olive oil and place it in the oven for 5 minutes.
- Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into a circle that fits your skillet.
- Carefully transfer the dough to the hot skillet, pressing it evenly across the bottom and up the sides.
- Spread the pizza sauce over the dough, then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Add your favorite toppings, like pepperoni and vegetables.
- Place the skillet back in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove the skillet from the oven and let it cool slightly. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
