Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Add softened butter to the dry ingredients and mix until crumbly using a hand mixer or stand mixer.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the applesauce, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  6. Gently fold in the grated apples with a spatula, ensuring they’re evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
