Scale
- For the Bread:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups finely chopped apples (mix of Honeycrisp + Granny Smith)
- For the Crumble Topping:
- 1/3 cup (40g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup (50g) brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- For the Salted Caramel:
- Store-bought or homemade caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Add the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the wet and stir just until combined. Fold in the chopped apples.
- In a small bowl, mix the flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Stir in the melted butter until the mixture becomes crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over the batter in the pan.
- Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cover loosely with foil after 30 minutes to prevent over-browning.
- Let the bread cool for at least 30 minutes before drizzling generously with salted caramel. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- Don’t overmix the batter—stir until just combined.
- Cover loaf with foil halfway through baking to avoid over-browning.
- Chill crumble topping if mixture feels too soft.
- Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for best flavor balance.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze up to 2 months.
