Description

Blueberry Crème Bats are a no-bake Halloween dessert that’s spooky, fun, and kid-friendly. With creamy blueberry filling, chocolate cookie wings, and a festive look, they’re perfect for parties, trays, or a fun baking session with kids.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2024 chocolate wafer cookies or chocolate graham crackers
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons blueberry jam or preserves
  • Candy eyes (optional)
  • 12 tablespoons melted dark chocolate (for attaching wings and decorations)
  • Optional: crushed freeze-dried blueberries or purple sugar for garnish

Instructions

  1. Make the filling: In a large bowl, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. Add powdered sugar and vanilla, then beat to stiff peaks. Fold in blueberry jam until combined.
  2. Create wings: Break chocolate cookies in half diagonally to form two triangular “wings.”
  3. Assemble bats: Spread or pipe blueberry crème onto a full cookie. Place wings on each side, pressing gently into the crème. Use melted chocolate to help secure if needed.
  4. Add details: Dab melted chocolate to attach candy eyes or sprinkle with sugar/berries.
  5. Chill: Refrigerate bats for 15 minutes before serving to set.

Notes

  • For neat wings: Score cookies with a knife before breaking.
  • Don’t overmix: Stop whipping cream once stiff peaks form.
  • Keep chilled: Store in the fridge until serving for best texture.
  • Variations: Use strawberry or raspberry jam for “bloody” bats, or color the filling black for a gothic look.
  • Storage: Refrigerate up to 48 hours, but avoid freezing.
