Ingredients
Scale
- 4 hot dogs
- 4 slices sandwich bread (white or whole wheat)
- 4 slices American or cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp butter, softened (or mayonnaise, for spreading)
- Optional toppings: mustard, ketchup, relish, pickles
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
- Lay out the bread slices. Place a slice of cheese on each bread slice.
- Place one hot dog on top of each bread and cheese slice. Roll tightly, securing the ends with toothpicks if needed.
- Lightly spread butter or mayonnaise on the outside of each roll.
- Place the hot dogs seam-side down in the air fryer basket.
- Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 6–8 minutes, turning halfway through, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove toothpicks, slice if desired, and serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
- Use soft sandwich bread for easy rolling without cracking.
- Mayonnaise can provide extra crispiness compared to butter.
- Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to allow for proper airflow.
- Check the grilled cheese hot dogs around the 5-minute mark, as air fryer cooking times can vary.
